The Artists’ Garden
Join us on Wednesday evenings during “Wind Down Wednesdays†for a tour of the gardens led by Dallas artists Alison Jardine and Erika Jaeggli.
These tours offer their interpretation of the Arboretum, and coincide with their gallery exhibit and artist residency entitled, “The Artists Gardenâ€, which opens on June 5th.
Tours will begin in the classroom with a brief slide show of the artists’ work at the Arboretum as well as famous artists who used nature as their subject matter. Then, Jardine and Jaeggli will share their view of the garden as well as the inspirations for the exhibit on display in the Rosine Hall gallery through June 30.
Visitors will be encouraged to view the gardens through a different lens. The focus will be on artistic concepts such as light, shadow, reflection, line and color as a way to enhance the understanding of plants and flowers. All levels of art appreciation are welcome. This is a unique opportunity to view the beloved gardens with a new perspective.
Join us on June 5th for the opening reception as Alison and Erika give an overview of the exhibit and share the inspiration for their work.
