Sunlight in the Machine

I’ve finished the second oil painting in my series that is part of a project I have titled “The Art in the Machine”.

Exploring my interest in how storing experiences and visual memories affects them, I began this series with a photograph of a tree against the sky. From this point, I am making a series of oil paintings created from digital manipulations of the previous painting in the series. Eventually, the process of feedback is leading to an entropy of sunlight into blankness.

I am still working on finishing the full series, linked as they are by a common set of actions and a sense of a journey. You can read more about it in my previous post The Art in the Machine

This is my latest painting, currently titled Sunlight Abstraction II.
