Recent Work: “Stacks” (installation) 2018/2019, and Urban Flora (Objects from A Future Past) //Erin Cluley Gallery, 2017.
“My work is driven by two main preoccupations: the human relationship with our environment, and the everyday and building materials with which I work. At the core of my practice is a feedback loop between my concept and the properties of material. My process is like fossilization, at high-speed, with concrete and plaster rather than limestone, within casts made from discarded packaging such as grocery bags and fast-food containers, giving a more permanent form to the ostensibly disposable.
I imagine that one day they might end up buried as geological relics, in our Anthropocene strata, for future archeologists to discover.”
